At WCDS, education extends beyond the classroom.

Whether it’s a 7th grader stepping into the grandeur of a British cathedral or a 1st grader marveling at endangered wildlife at the National Zoo, our students experience learning in unforgettable ways.

With small class sizes and a flexible curriculum, WCDS seamlessly integrates field trips and global excursions into the academic journey. Our prime location—nestled in the foothills of Shenandoah National Park and just over an hour from Washington, DC—allows students to explore history, culture, and nature firsthand.

From canoeing on the Shenandoah River to international adventures, WCDS students develop a deep appreciation for their community and the world. Every trip is an extension of the classroom, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
