Middle and Upper School Students Shine in 2024 Foothills Forum, RappNews Storytelling Contest

This year's county-wide Storytelling Contest, hosted by foremost Rappahannock news organizations Foothills Forum and the Rappahannock News, was a roaring success for several WCDS students!

Middle and upper school students from across the county were invited to select one of six prompts, submitting their responses as an essay, poem, music piece, video, artwork, or other medium of their choice. Judges then assessed the anonymous submissions, awarding cash prizes for first, second, and third-place winners and giving honorable mentions for other exceptional entries. Selected students were commended in April at a ceremony in the Little Washington Theatre and featured in Rapp News both in print and online.

Congratulations to the following WCDS creatives!

Middle School Winners:
1st Place – Mac Wofford
2nd Place – Claudia Archilla
Honorable Mention – Genia Lin

Upper School Winners:
3rd Place – Arella Nagle
Honorable Mentions – Grayson Wolfe, Daniel Fletcher, and Peter Miglino
