On Saturday, September 23, under blue skies and warm sunshine, forty runners competed in our annual fundraising 5K race. The strong turnout included a great mix of WCDS families and runners from the area and other local schools.
The Top Male Finisher was Adam Rossi who broke the race record with a time of 18.33. Rossi earned the gold medal in the group 19-39.
The Top Female Finisher was Hannah Ballon who took 8th overall in a time of 24:26 to earn the gold medal for females in the group 13-18.
The female group 12 and under was won by Abi Nader who finished in 9th place, and her sister Madi Nader finished in 13th place for the silver medal. The male group 12 and under was won by Hunter Curry with a 10th place finish, and Daniel Ballon won the silver medal with a 12thplace finish.
The female group 13-18 silver medal went to Allie Rogers who finished 16th.
The male group 13-18 was won by Ian Winch crossing in 2nd place, and Christian Lyman took the silver in 3rdplace.
The gold medal in the female group 19-39 went to past champion Helen Hayn who finished in 14th place, and WCDS parent and teacher Nikki Brady won the silver medal finishing 31st.
Shawn Kronner took the silver medal in the male group 19-39.
The gold and silver medals in the female group 19-39 went to WCDS parents Kristina Hagemeister, gold, who finished 17th and silver to Angela Scott who finished 30th.
Gary Winch won the gold medal in the male group 40-49 finishing 5th.
The silver medal went to WCDS parent Anthony Church who finished 18th.
WCDS teacher Lori Perry won the gold medal in the female group 50+ with a 13th place finish overall, and WCDS parent Chris Foreman won the male gold medal in the age group finishing 22nd.
