A record-breaking amount of more than $100,000 was raised for student scholarships at the Wakefield Country Day School (WCDS) Spring Auction on April 26. A big thank you to the community for its tremendous support!
The Spring Auction is the school’s primary annual fundraiser, contributing to one of two streams of income the school receives: tuition and donations. With the majority of WCDS students receiving financial assistance, proceeds from these auction events — which go entirely to the Student Scholarship Fund — are crucial to the school’s mission and ongoing support of the community.
Not only does this scholarship fund allow current students to receive ongoing support, but it also strengthens access to a WCDS education for families throughout our local area, ensuring financial need is never a barrier to opportunity. For many supporters, these contributions also serve as a meaningful way to direct their tax dollars toward educational opportunities for local students.
For over 50 years, WCDS has proudly maintained an unbroken record of 100% college acceptances, with students going on to matriculate at top colleges and universities of their choosing. As many alumni, parents, faculty and friends of WCDS gathered for this year’s unforgettable event, they helped ensure that this legacy of excellence and opportunity continues for generations to come.
