WCDS rising senior Julianna Butler has been honored as a Spring 2024 William & Mary Leadership Award recipient. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional young leaders throughout the state, spotlighting high school juniors who inspire and unite their school communities and beyond.
Once nominated, students are evaluated by their involvement and leadership in the school and the classroom. As the William & Mary Leadership Award information page states,
"Students considered for this award should demonstrate leadership in and outside the classroom. Past award recipients have been described as risk-takers, decision-makers, opinion leaders, go-getters, bridge-builders and catalysts for change."

As a multi-sport captain, Editor-in-Chief of the Journalism class, Student Government representative, and President of the Pep Club and Wildlife Conservation Club, Julianna exhibits natural leadership and a drive to positively impact those around her. The William & Mary Leadership Award not only recognizes these current attributes but also encourages her to continue her positive impact in years to come.
