Summer Bridge

June & July (8 weeks)

GENERAL INFORMATION for Summer Camps:

Registration for Get the Summer Started! Camp is due no later than Monday, April 30, 2018; all other camp registrations are due no later than May 25, 2018.

A non-refundable deposit of $50 per camp, per child is required at the time of registration.  Full payment is due no later than Tuesday, May 22, 2018 for Get the Summer Started! Camp, and Friday June 1, 2018 for all other camps.

Please provide copies of immunization records and a complete physical for each child not currently enrolled at Wakefield Country Day School.

Get the Summer Started!

May 24 - June 1
  • Counselor: Ashlyn Ramey
  • Participants: Current PS / PK / K
  • Hours: 9:00 am - follows school schedule
  • Cost: $250
  • This camp starts the day after PS/PK/K Graduation (and the PS/PK/K have ended their year) and continues the week after, when children in grades 1 through 12 are still attending school. Enrollment is limited to 12 so don’t wait to sign up for this popular camp!
  • What to bring: Campers should bring a lunch, including drink, a complete change of clothes, a swim suit and towel each day. Snack will be provided.

Outdoor Adventures

  • Participants: Rising 5th-Rising 8th Grade
  • Hours: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Cost: $240
  • Put away those electronic gadgets. Students will start the summer with a week of canoeing, fishing, and hiking. Join Mr. and Mrs. Perry as they share some of their favorite outdoor activities.
  • *A maximum of 8 campers allowed in this camp—don’t delay in signing up!*
  • Students should bring a lunch and their own rod and reel.

LEGO S.T.E.A.M. Camp

June 11 - June 15
  • Counselor: Nikki Brady
  • Participants: Rising 1st – Rising 4th Grade
  • Hours: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Cost: $240
  • You be the engineer! Participate in a week of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) projects using LEGOS! The students will be engaged in solving real-world engineering challenges that explore concepts in physics, architecture, and engineering. The LEGO art projects will appeal to the crafters of the bunch, too. After building all morning long, campers will head outside for some fun in the sun to let the wiggles out.
  • What to bring: Campers should bring a lunch (including drink), sun screen lotion, bathing suit & hat.

Bea's Fairy Fun Ballet

June 18-June 22
  • Counselor: Bea Youngquist
  • Participants: Rising 1st - Rising 5th Grade
  • Hours: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Cost: $240
  • First half of the day will focus on beginning ballet skills. The second half of the day campers will enjoy fairy crafts, games, and stories.
  • What to bring: Students should bring a lunch and water bottle. Please wear comfortable clothes.

Basketball Camp

June 18 - June 22
  • Counselor: Coach Costello
  • Participants: Rising 4th – Rising 10th Grade
  • Hours: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Cost: $120
  • This camp will be offered to those interested in improving their basketballs skills.
  • What to bring: Please bring a full water bottle marked with name.

Animal Classification

June 25 - June 29
  • Counselor: Jennifer Thede
  • Participants: Rising 1st – Rising 4th Grade
  • Hours: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Cost: $120
  • Animal classification camp is a week-long summer camp for students interested in learning and exploring mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, birds, and fish through scientific investigations, music, literature, and art! Each day the campers will be involved in activities that center around one or two of the animal classes. Campers will listen to various stories about animals, sing songs about animals, play “animal” games, create animal crafts, observe animals around the WCDS campus, and investigate animal classes.
  • What to bring: Campers are welcome to bring a lunch to eat at the beginning of the session with the morning campers. Please send your camper with a water, and wearing sunscreen.

Playing with Plants

June 25 - June 29
  • Counselor: Jennifer Thede
  • Participants: Rising 1st – Rising 4th Grade
  • Hours: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
  • Cost: $120
  • Playing with Plants is a week-long summer camp for students interested in learning, exploring, and observing the plant world through scientific investigations, literature, music, and art! Each day campers will be involved in a variety of plant activities including planting seeds, singing songs about plants, completing plant arts & crafts, reading plant stories, playing plant games, observing various plants around the WCDS campus, and using the scientific method to experiment with plants.
  • What to bring: Please send your camper with a snack, water, and wearing sunscreen. Campers staying for the afternoon camp should bring a lunch.

Dance & Movement

July 2 - July 6 (no class July 4)
  • Counselor: Nicole Wyant & Rebekka Korte
  • Participants: Rising 1st - Rising 6th Grade
  • Hours: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
  • Cost: $100
  • This Dance & Movement kid’s summer camp blends dance instruction with creative freedom. It allows the dancers to be the decision makers by exploring various styles of dance, choreography, music selection and ribbon dancing moves.
  • What to bring: Please send your camper with a labeled water bottle.

Wild Crafts! Fun in the Sun!

July 16 - July 20
  • Counselor: Sylvie Blank and Nicole Wyant
  • Participants: Rising 1st - Rising 5th Grade
  • Hours: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
  • Cost: $120
  • All out-doors arts & crafts and fun in the sun. Snacks will be provided.
  • Campers should bring a lunch, including drink, sun screen lotion & hat.

Latin Tutoring
