While non-sectarian, the school fosters an ethic of individual worth, service, and personal responsibility rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition to prepare graduates for the moral and intellectual rigors of citizenship in the twenty-first century.

At WCDS, students must master a basic core of knowledge that will enable them, as graduates, to interpret and make critical decisions about the world they will face as adults. The content-based curriculum inculcates a love and understanding of the achievements and moral underpinnings of Western culture. Once students have gained this appreciation of their civilization and their nation, their personal development can proceed on a firm foundation and with confidence.
